I started making movies from the age of eight with my parent’s old Panasonic camcorder using tapes and the creativity of my brothers and our friends. I have a Bachelor of Arts in ‘Creative Media Production’ from Massey University, Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa. The first year to ever graduate from this course, learnings consisted of script-writing, marketing, sound design, coding, media studies, directing, cinematography, acting, animation, transmedia storytelling, intermedia, event-planning, editing and a couple other things more. The final year project was a feature length movie I wrote and directed called ‘Living as a Story Thing’. We only made three fifths of the movie, for the film was made up of five short films forming a grand narrative. One day the final two pieces will be added to the whole, promise.

Here is a collection of some moving images I have made over the years. From music videos, moving image art, fictional narratives, behind-the-scenes, promo videos for friends and odd assorted moments of aliveness in between. Enjoy the show. More to show...

[this is one of my favourite photos that i have taken. in an expansive sunflower field in northern Hungary near the Slovakian border. a mesmerizing thunderstorm was gathering. i swum across the river holding my camera above my head and paddling the current with one hand, alongside my friend Leonie, to share the palpable awe before the rainfall.]

Hello, here are some film photos I have captured over the years on my Granny’s old 35mm film camera. This one here in fact: I love the texture, feel, look of it but it has gone kaput, does anyone know how to fix an Olympus AF-10 camera from 1991?

Happy scrolling ~

Another goodie! Hire me for your wedding?

...My life captured on film since 2016.

Please respect the original film image by not printing out any of these - let me know via email if you want to use, borrow, buy any of them.
I sell A5 prints of each image for $10 NZD and can send to you. 💖

Mouthfull began late 2016 through conversations with Andre Smith and Jack Gittings. As a film production company we began to host gigs and parties that comprised of live music, DJs, visual art exhibitions, collaborative mural making, raffles, performance art, VJs and a zine for each of the events called ‘Magnitudes’.

These ticketed events, always at a different space/venue with different artists, were initially to fund the production of our final year uni project ‘Living as a Story Thing’.

A feature length movie comprised of five short films and based on the framework of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs - where each of the five main characters were struggling to fulfill a specific tier of the hierarchy. The stories and characters overlap to form one whole narrative in an absurd and existential meandering experience. The incomplete story is missing chunks, but remains as a demo pilot piece to be enjoyed and learnt from.

Here’s the poster:

Commonplace books began in 2016 when I started making notebooks from repurposed paper. The pieces of paper alone were already so full of stories and when amalgamated together the pages-turn-notebook became an artwork in itself, with a practical everyday purpose to contain more stories. Most of the pages have only been used on one side, so each notebook is unique. There is an element of exploration and spontaneity involved when using commonplace notebooks, as each page provokes a different creative response.

In the bottom left corner of each notebook is a number, here is a big list of everyone who has held their own notebook in their hand. From 2016 - present. Do you want a notebook?
