Commonplace booksbegan in 2016 when I started making notebooks from repurposed paper. The pieces of paper alone were already so full of stories and when amalgamated together the pages-turn-notebook became an artwork in itself, with a practical everyday purpose to contain more stories. Most of the pages have only been used on one side, so each notebook is unique. There is an element of exploration and spontaneity involved when using commonplace notebooks, as each page provokes a different creative response.
In the bottom left corner of each notebook is a number, here is a big list of everyone who has held their own notebook in their hand. From 2016 - present. Do you want a notebook?
